over a decade, Amy has helped guide students and their parents through
the rigors of the college application process. Amy's goal is to
help students find a college or university which suits their academic
and intellectual curiosities as well as their social and community
interests. Having worked with hundreds of students, Amy has developed
a method which brings reason and order to what can otherwise be
an overwhelming experience.
Beginning as early as 9th grade, Amy works closely with students to identity their college goals and help select an academic schedule suitable to the schools to which they express an interest in applying. In addition, Amy helps organize students' extracurricular activities and community service to supplement their academic qualifications.
Ultimately, the college application process is about finding the right fit for each student in order to position the student to thrive in college both academically and socially. Amy works with each student to get to know his or her academic and social interests, career plans, and the intangibles which may be important to each student. Amy's collaborative approach to college counseling enables her to partner with her students to help them achieve their college goals.
Amy is a graduate of Tufts University and the University of Miami Law School. Amy organized the college fair for and worked with the college counselors at Miami Palmetto Senior High School for many years before starting her private practice. She volunteers with Achieve Miami and Teach for America to help students in underserved communities navigate the college application process. Amy is a member of NACAC, the National Association of College Admission Counseling.
Amy works with a wide range of students with diverse interests. In recent years, over 80% of Amy's students who submitted an Early Decision application gained acceptance to their school of choice.
